In Genesis chapter 17, the Lord made a covenant with Abram when he was ninety-nine years old, saying, "Walk before me and be blameless...and I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you." Abraham believed God and a divine purpose was birthed through him, such that he and his seed received an unimaginable blessing that can never be counted.

Reference: Hebrews 11:12 New Living Translation (NLT) "And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead - a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them."

The book of Hebrews shares the brief story of one remarkable man who remained committed to the word of the Lord concerning him, regardless of his body which was as good as dead. For this reason, Genesis 15:6 says, "Abram believed the LORD, and it was credited to him as righteousness." In other words, he built a seamless faith experience for every one of us in Christ to benefit from.

Now watch this: The Bible says, "If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise" (Galatians 3:29 NIV). What promise? According to referenced Scripture, God promised Abraham a nation with so many people, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, and there is no way to count them. Christ Jesus is that nation, and if you belong to Christ you are a person known as the "new creation" from this nation.

To further expound this truth, Galatians 3:16 says, "The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," meaning one person, who is Christ (NIV). Beloved, Christ is the fulfilment of the promises spoken to Abraham by God and more. He is the spiritual nation fittingly described and referred to in our referenced Scripture. This nation is the generation of the chosen people under the new covenant, characterised by grace dispensation.

This is the same spiritual nation Peter articulated in an advanced knowledge in 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) which says, "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." Did you grasp that? A holy nation here refers to those born spiritually into the realm of Christ, which came out of one man, Abraham.

Now how do we receive the countless Abrahamic blessings? By having and exercising undaunting faith in the finished work of Christ. Romans 4:16 (NLT) reads, "So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham's. For Abraham is the father of all who believe." By believing in Christ and accepting Him as Lord, you are in for an untold blessings, an everlasting possession and both physical and spiritual inheritance. And there is no way to count your blessings in Christ because they are of unquantifiable, inestimable and inexhaustible value. Shalom!

Guided Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the revelation of Christ as a spiritual nation, by whom grace and truth came.
