THE STANDARD IS RAISED CONTINUALLY ON YOUR BEHALF

The Spirit of God always lifts up a standard against the enemy. In Hebrew terms, standard is translated 'nes' which means, "something lifted up, like a signal, signal pole, ensign, banner, sign, distinguishing mark , warning, sail, as rallying point." So in essence, standard here represents is superiority. God always puts us in a superior position, no matter how the enemy comes against us. For this reason, those who fear God have no cause to fear or be perturbed about the enemy's noises. To grasp more, let's consider the Scripture reference below.

Reference: Isaiah 59:19 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) 'So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.'

There are three words translated in the above verse as "Enemy". The first one is the Hebrew word 'oyebh', which means "one who hates". It was frequently used in that manner in the book of Psalms. The second word is the Greek word 'echthros', which means "opponent or competitor." The last word mostly used in the New Testament is the Hebrew word, 'Tsar' and it means, "adversary, foe or oppressor."

Looking at our referenced Scripture, this shows that those who fear God, no matter the situation they are faced with and no matter what they get involved in, no adversary or competitor can prevail against them (Isaiah 59:19 AKJV). As a child of God, even if your adversaries appear big or seem to have more resources to compete, the Spirit of God that dwells in you will continually raise the standard for you so that you're divinely advantaged to win.

The Holy Spirit is the reason why Daniel and his team, whose diets were vegetables and water became healthier than the delicacy eaters. Also the wisdom of God was working mightily in them such that they became ten times better than their competitors. Daniel 1:19 -20 says, 'And the king spoke with them, and among all the young men he found no one equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. So they entered the king's service. In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his entire kingdom.'

Stephen, an usher in the early church could not be matched in wisdom because the Holy Spirit made him wiser than his accusers. Act 6:10 (NASB) reads, 'But they were unable to cope with the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.' It is not unremarkable that Stephen was considered the first Christian teacher whose "wisdom" was specially recognized because the Spirit of God raised his standard continually.

The Holy Spirit made Elijah who was running on foot to surpass Ahab who was riding horses. 1 King 18:46 (KJV) says 'The hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he tucked his cloak into his belt and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.' Beloved, sometimes when you don't appear to have all the necessary requirement or qualification that affords you the advantage, remember that if you allow the Spirit of God to lead and guide you on the specifics, He would raise the standard on your behalf, no matter how hopeless the situation seems.

At all times, the Spirit of God requires your partnership and cooperation to raise the standard against your enemies. One of the ways He can do that is to give you a specific instruction (see Jeremiah 51:27). As you comply, He pushes the lift botton on your behalf and your standard will be raised, while your opponents or attackers are repelled in shame. This is why it is very important to stay tuned to the leading and intelligence of the Holy Spirit at all times. If you continually yield to Him, no opposition, evil force or contenders challenging you will ever win.

Scripture Reading - Isaiah 11:10; Psalm 60:4; Isaiah 49:22; Colossians 2:15.

Exuberant Declaration: I function from a vantage point that guarantees my victory at all times and I'm well advantaged because the Holy Spirit is active in me. I'm right ly positioned to move higher and higher in the realms of life because my standard is continually raised by the Spirit to express wider thoughts, display high level divine intelligence, and walk with a clearer vision of God's truth. Thus, I'm superior to the devil and his minions and more advanced than my opponents, even as the Spirit of God guides and works mightily in me. Praise God!
