Today, I'm looking at the details of the very care the LORD has promised His people. One thing we must always bear in mind is this: If the Lord is going to do something for you, you should always endeavour to find out how He's going to do it. That way, you are bound to experience His promise and walk in light of it. For instance, if the Lord will guide you continually, how will He do it? Will He appear to you and speak to you face to face? What are you supposed to do? Let's find out more!

Reference: Isaiah 58:11 New Living Translation (NLT) "The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring."

In the context of this topic, the first tender care the Lord offers is divine guidance. This sort of guidance is properly understood by the community of born again Christians, or by the body of Christ, as they are the centre or place where God manifests His active presence on the earth. The Greek rendering suggests leading, instruction, conduct, prescription.

Every born again Christian needs divine guidance because it transcends the voice of the flesh. The idea is derived from the mode of speaking and communing with Holy Spirit because Christ by His Spirit, dwells in every true Christian. In another way, if the Lord will guide you continually, He will usually do so by the Holy Spirit of truth. This is the reason Jesus said, "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come" (John 16:13 NKJV). The Holy Spirit has already come and if you have received Him, you have access to divine guidance.

The strength of wisdom is divine guidance. Familiarity with the guiding influence of the Holy Spirit has proved to be more rewarding than just the knowledge of the truth. In other words, there is such a thing as submitting entirely to the governing influence of the Spirit of God. It makes a whole lot of difference. Now watch this: Most of His guidance are not easily expressible in human words. This is why speaking in unknown tongues is needful in our Christian walk because when you transact in that realm, you'll be amazed at the way you handle the issues of life accurately.

This denotes that some things you encounter in life are not ordinary, meaning that you can't afford to live or function without divine guidance. Romans 8:26-28 reads, "Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good" (The Message). Beloved, the Holy Spirit is always there to help us when we don't know what God wants us to pray for. In a nutshell, the Holy Spirit prays for the saints with groanings that cannot be expressed in words and He intercedes for us according to the will of God.

Therefore, when you are not able to express some things with the right words, it is an alarm that should awaken your spirit to pray deeply in the Spirit. So you must apply extraordinary force by praying in tongues until the Holy Spirit takes over from you. Then the accurate guidance you require will come up to the surface and you'll notice that you're are expressing outright acumen and the ability to notice and understand what to do clearly. Beloved, divine guidance is priceless, and there is an existing assurance that the Lord will guide you continually, if you follow the leading of the Spirit bumper to bumper (Galatians 5:25 NLT). So you can rest assured that by the Spirit, you'll receive the guidance you require in every aspect of life as the coming year appears. Stay tuned for part 3. Shalom!
